On March 20th, WUIS welcomed a unique campus music event. The Harmony Orchestra, led by renowned domestic and international performers, captivated teachers and students through classic performances and creative interactions, sowing the seeds of art education in the spring campus.
Classical Strings: Knocking on the Door of Art
The string section opened the event with Mozart’s “Serenade in G Major”. The lively violin and the warm viola intertwined, their clear melodies flowing through the auditorium, sketched the elegant contours of classical music for the audience.

Woodwind Adventure:Reviving Animated Classics
The woodwind quintet brought the music of Studio Ghibli animations to the stage. The forest whispers of “My Neighbor Totoro” and the steam-filled fantasies of ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ were vividly presented through the playful notes of the oboe and the graceful melodies of the flute, prompting young audiences to sway gently to the rhythm.

Cross-Genre Fusion: Igniting Musical Energy
The brass and percussion sections performed the popular piece “APT”, where the bright tones of the trumpet and the dynamic beats of the drums complemented each other perfectly. This creative blend of traditional orchestral instruments and modern pop styles showcased the boundless possibilities of musical expression.

Poetic Finale: Immersing in the Beauty of Art
The flute and harp jointly performed the theme song from “Spirited Away”. The ethereal flute and the crystalline harp chords intertwined like moonlight spilling over water, infusing the concert with a serene and profound Eastern ambiance.

Interactive Experience: Touching the Warmth of Music
The instrument experience session sparked the enthusiasm of the entire audience. Through lively and engaging explanations and demonstrations, the teachers allowed the children to get up close with various instruments and learn about their intricacies.

Mr. Meng stated in his speech, “Music is the language of the soul. I hope the children find joy and dreams in music, allowing art to become a beautiful companion on their journey of growth.”
