September is the season of harvest and the season of reward. All teachers and students gathered in the playground as SUIS Wanyuan welcomed the first flag-raising ceremony of the semester.
With the sound of the wind band students playing, the flag guards came to the flagpole with a neat pace and handed the flag to the flag raiser. Then, the national anthem was played and the national flag was fluttering in the air.
Principal Paul Quan delivered a speech for this flag-raising ceremony. This year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and he expressed the sincere teaching and ardent expectation that students should be grateful for their self-improvement and learn their skills to develop comprehensively. This year is also the 10th year of the school. During the summer vacation, we experienced a lot: the Zhengzhou flood showed us the power of nature, the Olympic athletes interpreted the spirit of perseverance, self-improvement and struggle with their own actions; under the double reduction policy, we should adjust ourselves, exercise various skills, learn sportsmanship, learn long-term self-discipline and hard work, and contribute more to the beauty of the world. We should contribute more to the beauty of the world. Principal Paul Quan also hoped that all students would have more gains in the new semester.
We also welcomed new teachers in the new school year. On behalf of the new teachers, Ms. Li from the middle school and Mr. Nick from the high school both expressed their love for education and the honor and pride of being a teacher of SUIS Wanyuan, and their determination to demand themselves with the strictest standards, care for students with the most sincere feelings, and do their best to do a good job in teaching.
We are led through the journey of our youth by our teachers, who silently nurture our growth with love. Finally, under the warmest applause of the students, the ten teachers who were shortlisted for the Xieli Prestigious Teachers Award were presented on stage. They showed us the elegance of outstanding teachers.
