
On May 7th, 15 Grade 11 IB German B students from SUIS Gubei visited CieCAS, an educational institution specializing in hospitality, hotel management and culinary arts, among other programs.
The cooking program is led by Sasha, a Swiss educator, who explained every step of the cooking process to the students entirely in German. During the trip, students prepared a three-course meal and crafted a signature cocktail created by the center’s team.
They made a traditional flour soup from Basel, the classic Swiss Rösti (shredded potato with chicken) from the Zurich area, and finished the meal with a traditional Swiss apple tart for dessert.




Throughout the cooking activity, Sasha gave instructions in German at all times, allowing students to broaden their German vocabulary and fully immerse themselves in German communication. The session was also overseen by professional chef Danny, who guided students on ingredient handling and the proper use of kitchen equipment. The students from SUIS Gubei thoroughly enjoyed this educational excursion. As expected, the experience was both delightful and tasty.
