The August breeze, infused with the lingering warmth of late summer, ushered in a tender encounter woven with the threads of growth. From August 27th to 29th, the apricot trees on campus unfurled their lush foliage in quiet grace, playing host to the first-grade newcomers during the Kindergarten-to-Primary Transition Experience Days. This was far more than a mere shift from kindergarten to primary school—it was a “debut journey of growth” brimming with delight. Strange surroundings softened into familiarity, and the outline of the future took vivid shape through the children’s own curious exploration. With eyes ablaze with wonder, they stepped into the campus; with tiny yet determined steps, they solemnly embarked on their much-anticipated “primary school chapter”.

As dawn painted the campus, first-grade homeroom teachers stood awaiting the children, class badges in hand and smiles that radiated warmth. “Welcome to first grade, little friend!” A single gentle greeting melted away the shyness of that first meeting, like sunlight dissolving morning dew. Teachers took the children’s small hands and led them into classrooms bathed in light—where neat rows of desks and chairs stood at attention, brand-new whiteboards and touchscreens glistened, and vibrant classroom backdrops adorned the walls. Every detail sparked gasps of amazement from the young visitors. To teach daily routines, teachers wove charming tales: “Line up straight like a little ruler”, “Set your schoolbag down softly”, “Raise your hand before speaking”. The children listened with rapt attention, occasionally lifting their hands to ask questions, their eyes beaming like stars. The seeds of expectation for growth were quietly taking root and sprouting.

The three-day experience was akin to a vibrant journey of discovery, with new wonders unfolding at every turn. In the martial arts class, every stance and movement kindled the confidence of little warriors; in the hip-hop class, bodies swayed and leaped to the rhythm, as waves of joyous melody filled the air. In the integrated art class, ultra-light clay and paper discs collided to spark bursts of childlike creativity; mathematics, hidden within the pages of picture books, transformed into a lively adventure. In reading class, the teacher breathed life into words, making stories leap off the page; phonics class felt like a magical language journey, enticing children to unlock the mysteries of letters. This experience deepened the children’s connection to their new campus and let them marvel at the enchanting allure of Xiehe’s integrated Chinese-Western education philosophy.

A heartfelt opening ceremony during these Experience Days ignited fresh aspirations in the children’s hearts. They watched the admission ceremony video, then greeted their teachers with clear, innocent voices. Each exclamation of “I’m a first-grade student now!” was brimming with pride and joy. The school leaders prepared a special admission gift for every child—a token of affection, and more importantly, a wish: may they set forth bravely and explore fearlessly in this new chapter.
Though the three days were fleeting, they planted seeds of passion and love in the children’s hearts. The move from kindergarten to primary school is not just a change of location, but the launch of a dream. May they carry this beautiful first memory, and with their teachers’ guidance, conscientiously step toward a future filled with greater confidence and brightness—for their primary school life is now gently turning its warm, welcoming first page.
