The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) sponsored by the Mathematics Association of America (MAA). Today, the competition has become the most influential youth math competition with over 300,000 students participating annually in over 6,000 schools. AMC hosts a series of competitions such as AMC 8 held for grade 8 or below, AMC 10/12 held for students at/below grade 10/12. AIME held for top achievers from AMC 10/12 participants, and USAMO/ USAJMO is for excellent participants from AIME and AMC 10/12.

Both AMC 10/12 require students to solve 25 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes, divided into two exams, Version A and Version B. The Version A and B of AMC 10/12 are different and separate papers, but of equal difficulty and scope. Participants can choose either or both to take, and finally the highest individual score will be selected to advance to AIME (Version A and B papers are ranked separately).
Because of its rigorous design and combination of simplicity and difficulty, the AMC is not only a test that challenges students of all levels, but also a test that is a known for the high degree of distinction in the questions, from which it selects students with unique talents for the U.S. National Team of IMO.

This time Shanghai United International School Gubei Campus won 1 Honor Roll of Distinction, 18 Distinction, 7 Achievement Roll, 1 School Honor Roll, 1 School Merit Roll and 37 students are qualified for AIME.
A special shout out to the students from our school for their outstanding performance during the AMC10/12. 3 students won the awards in AMC10A, 5 students won the awards in AMC10B, 8 students won the awards in AMC12A, and 7 students won the awards AMC12B.
