As October comes to an end and we celebrate the 18th solar term, known as “Frost’s Descent,” we also take the opportunity to present the 14th Artistic Performing Corner (APC) at our primary school. The APC is a space dedicated to recognizing the fastidious and meticulous efforts demonstrated by our music and art students. Through their regular engagement in weekly lessons, they reveal a special fondness and a responsible, detailed dedication in these expressive spaces.
The APC serves as a platform not only for students but also for teachers. In this edition, the event hosts were our art teachers 张晓茜 Ms. Sheena and Mr. Louis Hager. To start off the concert, we were treated to the participation of music teachers 孟倩如 Ms Martina on vocals and Mr Dmytro Sukhov on the piano, who together performed the Chinese piece 《越人歌》”The Yue Folk Song” by composer Liu Qing. Each edition of the APC benefits from the participation and organization of all primary school art and music teachers, who work tirelessly on and off stage for the successful and smooth execution of this wonderful event.
Creating artistic spaces where the school community can share and celebrate the achievements of our students and teachers is of great importance. Actively participating in a concert or art exhibition is fruitful, but by being there to listen, observe, and appreciate offers a unique experience that digital platforms cannot replicate. The APC aims to preserve these positive in-person spaces in order to promote a range of joyful experiences and emotions. At SUIS Qingpu, we aim to cultivate our lives as works of art.
We are grateful to students, teachers, leaders, and the audience for their active and enthusiastic participation during this edition of the APC. With rapturous applause, the 14th edition of the APC concluded successfully. At SUIS Qingpu, we enjoy being part of our students’ creative processes and hope to continue motivating and promoting their engagement with artistic endeavours. We look forward to your presence at the 15th edition on 18 December in our Qinglong Theatre!
