[Wuxi] Virtue Assembly Shining Stars

WUIS endeavours to provide a diversified learning environment for children, so they can swim in the ocean of knowledge and grow in the world of practice, and ultimately become future citizens with an international outlook, erudition, and physical and mental health. On September 27th, all teachers and students from Primary gathered at the Grand Theatre to discuss about the theme of September – Balance.

The students of P6B showed us a stage full of creativity and vigour, they showed us the meaning of holistic development through their rousing recitation and desk dance. In WUIS, every student is a star that is shining, and they light up the path of growth in their own way.

Backbone of a Great Nation

The Virtues Rally took us on a heroic journey across time and space. At the rally, the story of British Antarctic explorer –Ernest Shackleton, like a fresh and strong wind, blew into the heart of WUISers and inspired their deep understanding of courage, perseverance and team spirit.

Shackleton, an explorer known for his fearlessness in exploring the unknown, has been immortalised in the history of mankind by his Antarctic expeditions on the Hunter in 1907-1909 and the Fortitude in 1914-1916. The story of the Antarctic expedition is a legend in human history. Although the voyage of ‘Fortitude’ eventually failed to get what they wished for, in the face of the extremely harsh environment, Shackleton and his team members showed unimaginable perseverance and wisdom. They did not bow to fate, but rather, with indomitable spirit, completed the great turnaround from despair to hope, writing one of the most touching chapters in the history of human exploration. It is of the most moving chapters in the history of human exploration

Student Council

The heads of the student council gave feedback on the important aspects from this month. They praised the students for their good behavior, and gave expectations and suggestions on how to improve for next month.

The house winner this month was Blue house, the representative of Blue house came to receive their award on stage. Congratulations to Blue house!

Politeness

In WUIS, every corner is overflowing with the breath of respect and friendship. Under the cultivation of civilised etiquette, students not only learn how to get along with others, but also understand the importance of self-cultivation. This is not only a temple of knowledge, but also a paradise for personality growth, so that the flower of civilisation blossoms quietly in the heart of every student. The virtue this month is “Politeness”. 25 students of “Politeness in WUIS” and a class of “Politeness in WUIS” were selected.

Reading can be like shining stars, illuminating the direction of children’s learning journey. When you listen to a story, you can go on a wonderful journey. The school leaders gave prizes to excellent readers and encouraged more students to create more time for reading, to read more and to think more.

Essay Competition

Our students participated in the 2024 Wuxi ‘Anti-Drug Cup’ Essay Contest and the 2024 ‘Story of My Family and Zhongshufang’ Reading Essay Contest, and achieved remarkable results. This is not only a high recognition of their literary talent, but also a vivid demonstration of the achievements of humanistic education in our school.

Math Kangaroo Asia Camp

In the 2024 Kangaroo Maths Asia Camp, a delegation from our school embarked on this cross-border academic journey with endless love and desire to explore mathematics, and eventually returned home with outstanding results, proving the extraordinary strength of our students.

English CompetitionIn the arena of wisdom, talent and passion, our students wrote their own brilliant chapters with outstanding performance. In the 12th International English Olympiad – Hippo English National Finals and 2024 ‘Sunshine Dream – Healthy Walk’ International Language Style Show, they stood out from the crowd with their fluent speaking, profound language skills and deep understanding of cross-cultural communication, won the high appreciation of the judges, and won. This is a great achievement for the students’ unremitting efforts and pursuit of excellence.

Safety Knowledge Presentation

Safety is the foundation of our learning life, only in a safe environment can we learn and grow better. Officer Liu from Wuxi Zhaqiao Police Station, with her profound professional knowledge and rich practical experience, brought a vivid and profound safety education lecture to the teachers and students of the primary school. Through this safety education lecture, all the teachers and students have a more in-depth understanding and awareness of safety issues, and also enhanced their safety awareness and self-protection ability.
