Last Friday, the BC Program held a parent’s meeting for G9 and G10 students. Parents were introduced to the BC Program staff team, the BC curriculum, and to the importance of career and University planning, giving them a clearer understanding and appreciation of the BC Program. The meeting was held online due to social distancing guidelines.
The meeting started with an video, showcasing students’ energetic school lives since the beginning of the semester. It showed them creating artwork in the art room, trying new sports in PE class, conducting experiments in the laboratories, and many more things besides……
Our students get offers and acceptances to top universities around the world. Last year our students received amazing offers to universities despite our 3-month lockdown in Shanghai. At Jiaoke, we like to start with the end in mind. We want students and parents to start thinking about the steps they need to take across the stage at Graduation, and the steps they need to take to ensure they are open to the variety of academic choices that come with being a student in the BC Program.
Principal Toni Wereschuk introduced the foreign teaching team, the Chinese teaching team, and the management team, who together form the BC Program staff team.
Jiaoke BC Program is approved by both Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and BC Ministry of Education.
Dr. Ted is the BC Program’s Academic Guidance counselor. He helped parents and students to begin preparing for some important milestones, by understanding more about foreign Universities, BC high school graduation requirements and the University application process.
Ms. Donna Tarrant is our Language Acquisition Support teacher. She works with Language Support and BC English teachers to assist students who struggle with the English language.
Rita, Chinese director of the BC Program, introduced the homeroom teacher team and means of parent-school communication, as well as academic goals for the starting-grade students this coming school year.
