Farewell to a cold and harsh winter. Spring is welcoming us with blossoms! We farewell our holiday leisure and welcome back our harmonious campus!
On March 1, all the teachers and students gathered in the gym to hold the first flag raising ceremony of this semester. Under the theme of “Love, Health and Growth”, the flag raising ceremony reviewed the charity sale activities, defined the goal for the new semester and guided students to study happily and live healthily.
With the resonant national anthem playing, the five-star red flag is rising.
In order to welcome the new students into our SUIS Qingpu family, our school has sent them lovely souvenirs.
Two of our parents representatives, 3A Andy Liu’s mother and 2F Momo Sun’s father, reviewed and summarized the charity sale in 2021. During this charity sale, 34,335 RMB was raised by sports punch-in, 170,100 RMB was raised by auction and 52,822.29 RMB was raised by free dressing. This totalled 257,257.29 RMB. We would like to thank all parents, teachers and students for their love and support. SUIS Qingpu has raised more than 400,000 RMB in the two “Happy New Year with Love”, which will be used for the purchase of equipment and teachers training in the fields of sports, music, English, and information technology for the schools in Yunnan.
Betty Bian from 3C, shared her holiday health punch-in experience. She said that by sticking to the punch-in, she not only developed a good habit of regular exercise and enhanced her immunity, but also enriched her after-school life. Mr. Anthony Janoo, the teacher representative, shared how the high school students participated in the “World Scholar Cup” last semester. The students were encouraged to learn to grow in any situation.

We also watched the wonderful folk art “Dragon and Lion” dance performance. At the end of the performance, Ms. Maxine Lu, General Principal of the Xiehe Education Group and SUIS Qingpu Co-Acting Principal Dr. Adam Neufield made the finishing point for the Dragon and Lion dance, and wished everyone a lively and prosperous life!
At the end of the flag raising ceremony, Ms. Maxine Lu told the students that the recent eradication of extreme poverty across China is a great success and it will take a long time to persist. We believe that our students will contribute more to social development through their efforts!
