Books are for experiencing. During the past European Carnival, we established a spiritual cafe for students by exploring the stories of famous Europeans. Now, Salad English would invite you to take a look at the marvelous work of our students.
01
READING AND WRITING
European paintings are the concentrated essence of painting techniques, while well-known European quotes are the result of the wisdom from knowing and doing. Tchaikovsky, Einstein, Madame Curie… Students are stimulated to read outside the classroom through in-class guided reading activities, which then lead to reflection and discussion, before the text takes root in their minds between pen and paper.
02
SHARING
Stories and legends are spread through this activity from elder students to our eager Grade 2 students. By introducing a famous European with fluent expression, our elder students are setting a great example to younger students.
03
ACTING
Famous European Sayings are not only about a name, a quote, or a legendary story, but also reflecting on and experiencing culture and life philosophy through the combination of reading, comprehension, writing and acting.
Great biographies are a wonderful way for students to learn about the world and expand their understanding on life and the importance of values. By taking a sip from a cup of “coffee”, students are guided to learn about great figures in Europe, analyse the stories behind their success from different perspectives, discover and learn from their outstanding characters and spirits. We believe that by participating in this “cafe”, interest in reading important biographies will be stimulated among our students.
