Over the weekend of Friday 27th November until Sunday 29th November, nine very passionate and talented WUIS students, travelled to Zhangjiagang, to be part of an impressive MUN Conference. There were approximately 150 students participating across the three day conference, in a range of committees.
The following WUIS students exhibited confidence, maturity, responsibility and academic prowess, throughout the 3 days of debate, discussion, diplomacy, speech delivery & resolution writing:
For both the Security Council and the Human Rights Council, the working language was English.
At the conclusion of the conference, there were a limited number of highly sought-after awards. We were extremely proud that WUIS students secured three of these most prestigious awards:
Congratulations to these three students! And, special congratulations to Jessica Chen (G11) & Erica Geng (G11), who demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout the conference, in their roles as DAIS Chairs.
MUN demands that students solve real-life global dilemmas, using the rules of procedure from the actual United Nations. It is an activity that is highly regarded and deeply respected by world class universities and, is a valuable addition to any student’s university application!
We look forward to participating in future conferences.
